Motor and Transmission Lab
Research Focus
Electric vehicles
Electric vehicles are ever more appealing in a world where reducing carbon emissions and pollution is a growing concern for many people. Research has shown that electric vehicles are better for the environment. They emit less greenhouse gases and air pollutants over their life than a petrol or diesel car. Electric vehicles are predicted to be the next disruptive market force for transportation and technology. They have the potential to revolutionize how energy is used, created and redirected.
Motor and Transmission lab is researching cut-edge and novel techniques for design and implementation of electric motor into vehicles such as balancing electric vehicle, electric go-kart, and foldable electric bike. Our key techniques focus on linear/rotary brushless motors, linear induction/reluctant motors.
