Deepening Technical and Vocational Education to Cultivate Talent
Taichung Municipal Dajia Industrial High School recently held a signing ceremony for the "Tailored Talent Cultivation Program and Technical Skills Rooting Program," forming alliances with eight junior high schools along the coastal area and three national universities. The initiative aims to nurture professional technical talents that meet the needs of local industries. This program integrates educational resources from junior high schools, technical high schools, and universities of science and technology, collaborating with 20 high-quality local enterprises to provide students with foundational to advanced technical education, thereby enhancing their employability in the local job market.
Director of the Taichung City Education Bureau, Chiang Wei-min, stated that Taichung City’s innovative tailored talent cultivation programs, including those at Taichung Industrial High School and Dajia Industrial High School, utilize industry-academic cooperation to align students’ skills with the demands of sectors such as refrigeration and air conditioning, machinery, and electrical and electronic engineering. The program is structured into three phases: foundational technical courses in junior high schools, professional and practical courses in technical high schools, and advanced technical training at universities of science and technology, aiming to comprehensively develop pragmatic and skilled technical professionals.
